The Three Demons That Keep Faith-Driven Founders Broke

Fear, self-doubt and low self-esteem cost more deals than any recession. Here is how to name them, face them and build anyway.

Every founder I have coached across three continents has met the same three demons at some point in their journey. They do not show up wearing name tags, they show up as procrastination, as a shrunken vision, as a pricing conversation you keep avoiding.

1. Fear

Fear is the demon that keeps you from picking up the phone, from raising your rates, from sending the pitch. In Scripture we are reminded: "God has not given us a spirit of fear." Fear is a liar and a thief. Name it out loud when it shows up.

2. Self-doubt

Self-doubt is fear's quieter cousin. It whispers, "Who are you to build this?" The antidote is not confidence, it is evidence. Build a record of small wins, and let the evidence outshout the whisper.

3. Low self-esteem

This is the deepest one, because it questions your identity. Your identity is not your last quarter's revenue. It is who God says you are. Rebuild your inner voice first, and your outer results will follow.

How to work through them this week

  • Write down each demon's most recent lie.
  • Match every lie with one Scripture and one piece of evidence from your life.
  • Take one action today that contradicts the loudest lie.

Transformation is not a moment. It is a habit. Do this for 30 days and watch the deals start closing.
